Join us for our next Board of Directors meeting, Tuesday 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Coalition Headquarters in San Luis Obispo! These meetings are open to the public and will give you an inside look to the organization and our dedication to making SLO County better for bicycles.
In our ongoing efforts to better represent bicycles in SLO County, we have created a super quick survey for you to fill out. Your responses are extremely important to us as we advocate, educate and promote bicycles on all levels. You don’t need to be a member to take the survey, everyones feedback is important!
Feel free to pass it along to anyone who rides bikes. Thanks!

This year, around $700 million of Federal transportation funds, (less than 2 percent of total transportation dollars) will be spent on bicycling and walking. In 2012 that figure could be A BIG FAT ZERO. Show our leaders that bicyclists are voters too!
Join the Coalition, our state and national partners and call your Senator to let them know you support CONTINUED FUNDING FOR BIKING AND WALKING. The League of American Bicyclists has a simple site to find out who your Senator is, and allows you to easily contact them. We ask that you take just a moment and contact your Senator TODAY.
We have created a simple infographic to outline the importance of this issue, feel free to share with your friends and family:
You have a legal right to be on the road and we’ll give you the tools to make it easy. Our workshops teach traffic psychology and techniques that will empower you while you ride. August’s workshop is held in the afternoon, giving you more time to sleep in before you join us as we share our bike joy and knowledge with you!
When: Saturday, September 17th, 8:30am – 1:00pm
Where: Coalition Headquarters, 860 Pacific St, SLO (map)
Why: With confidence, bicycling is a safe and enjoyable way to travel. Join the movement!
How: More details and registration can be found online here.
If you’ve been wanting to get back on your bicycle, but need some quick tips to make sure you stay safe (and legal) while doing so, today is your lucky day!
The follow quick tips are intended to be simple and easy to use. For more you can check out the bike safety portion of our website.
Still not feeling comfortable or confident on the road? Take one of our free Bike Ed Workshops!
A dancing bear in Denmark cheering on cyclists on their daily ride? GENIUS! We love the spirit of this video, just like we love bikes. Enjoy.
If you haven’t renewed your Coalition membership this year, now is the time to do so! Renewing is easy, and can be done online today here.
Coalition memberships help us get more bike paths built, more safe routes to schools, more bike lanes striped, more people riding bikes, and more visitors to SLO County to be a part of the bike-happy lifestyle we love! The more members we have, the stronger our voice is within our community to make positive change for bicycles and pedestrians in the future!
Our advocacy efforts aim to make riding a bicycle easy and more enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities. With your support, we can continue to be THE voice for bicycles in SLO County, and provide the community with the programs we all know and love.
Consider the $52 household membership level to be an investment in bicycles, at just $1/week it will seriously help continue the Coalition’s momentum into 2012.
We are proud to be your voice for bicycles in SLO County, thanks for your continued support, tell your friends!
