Have you dreamt of getting paid while making SLO County more bike-friendly? Make your dreams come true and join our team… the Coalition is now hiring a Bike Valet Coordinator! To learn more about this opportunity and to apply visit our website.
The 2nd Annual SLO GranFondo is set for this October! This year’s ride runs along the Central Coast and enables cyclists of all abilities to ride and support ALPHA and the Coalition. We will be receiving a portion of the proceeds from the event this year, and encourage you to invite your friends for this unique Central Coast cycling experience.
The ride offers three routes to accommodate a variety of riders:
- GranFondo: over 100 miles on a challenging ride from SLO up the northern coast to Piedras Blancas and back
- MedioFondo: about 50 miles along the same route as the GranFondo, but returns after reaching Cayucos
- PiccoloFondo: a 25 mile loop through countryside that unfolds onto the Morro Bay estuary
Registration is now open, (registering after September 1st will not secure you a jersey until after the event).
Regardless of your ability level, a GranFondo is an unforgettable cycling experience. The Coalition will be parking bikes in the Mission after the ride and will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event! By riding you can support both ALPHA and the Coalition!
Morro Bay’s July 4th celebration included the 2nd annual bike parade! We were glad to be a part of the parade, and park bikes at Tidelands Park at the end of the ride down the Embarcadero. Early estimates were around 500 participants in the parade, which went from the Rock to Tidelands, as a sea of red, white & blue on two wheels! See more photos on our flickr photostream here.
See images from this month’s ‘i bike slo’ photobooth at the Bike Valet! We’ll be there next month for the photobooth again, hopefully without as much wind!

Get your bike portrait taken at the Bike Valet this Thursday at Farmer’s Market and help us show how much people love bikes! It’s a great way to show off the personality of you and your bike, and helps us promote biking in SLO County. Visit ibikeslo.org for previous photos.
Join us for the I ‘bike’ SLO photobooth every last Thursday of the month at the Bike Valet! Have your photo taken for free and show off your bike and the personal flair that you love so much about it, it’s our way of sharing the diversity of bicycles and riders in SLO County. See all the images on our flickr page here.
Our t-shirts are also for sale online as well, check ’em out at ibikeslo.org
