Wildflower Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer for the Wildflower Century

Our friends over at the San Luis Obispo Bicycle Club are seeking volunteers for the Wildflower Century on Saturday, April 25, 2015. They especially need people that can do some lifting. These jobs have “Lifting” in their name so they can easily be identified. However, everyone is welcome to volunteer for any job that might interest them or fit their schedule. All volunteers receive a T-shirt and an invitation to the Volunteer Brunch on Sunday, April 26th.
wildflowerwideTheir Century Jobs web page ( https://slobc.org/volunteering/century.html ) is a one stop location to learn about Job Openings, Job Descriptions and the Volunteer Process. Choose a job from those identified as open in the “Wildflower Team Member Report” and then email the “Wildflower Volunteer Coordinator” at ( wildflower-volunteer-coordinator@slobc.org ) to volunteer for the position. The volunteer coordinator will contact you for any information needed to complete your volunteer record.

Please let them know that The Bicycle Coalition sent you!

Bike to Bites this Wednesday!

Where: Meet at the Community Center, 5599 Traffic Way, Atascadero

We are proud to be a part of the first annual Bike To Bites event in Atascadero as part of Rideshare’s Bike Month!

We’ll be meeting at the Community Center to ride as a group, have a blast & ring our bells on our way to the Galaxy Theater… Free pizza & root beer at the theater after the ride!

We’ll have the Bike Valet set up, park your bike, and use your valet tag for a free screening of “Breaking Away” at the Galaxy!

Can’t meet us at the Community Center for the ride? Check out the flier for local bike routes to use to ride to the theater to meet us!

2011 SLO GranFondo

The 2nd Annual SLO GranFondo is set for this October! This year’s ride runs along the Central Coast and enables cyclists of all abilities to ride and support ALPHA and the Coalition. We will be receiving a portion of the proceeds from the event this year, and encourage you to invite your friends for this unique Central Coast cycling experience.

The ride offers three routes to accommodate a variety of riders:

  • GranFondo: over 100 miles on a challenging ride from SLO up the northern coast to Piedras Blancas and back
  • MedioFondo: about 50 miles along the same route as the GranFondo, but returns after reaching Cayucos
  • PiccoloFondo: a 25 mile loop through countryside that unfolds onto the Morro Bay estuary

Registration is now open, (registering after September 1st will not secure you a jersey until after the event).

Regardless of your ability level, a GranFondo is an unforgettable cycling experience. The Coalition will be parking bikes in the Mission after the ride and will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event! By riding you can support both ALPHA and the Coalition!
