    Great NPR article Blayne.

As to safe riding tips for SLO County Riders, our Bike Smart Commuter Classes give riders an introduction to the basic rules of the road and highlight the laws that apply to bicycles (stop signs, lights, wrong-way riding, etc…).

We also teach techniques to increase predictability and visibility while riding, then preview local intersections and how to approach them on a bicycle.

Finally, we provide a helpful review of basic bicycle components and work to dispel common misconceptions about bicycle riding.

Anyone can sign up for our Bike Smart Commuter Classes. There’s more info about all of our workshops here.

Hi @stryker805 – we don’t have any new updates from 2014 to report on yet. But community input continued in fall of 2013 with public workshops held in Paso Robles and Atascadero to discuss trail alignment and goals. With multiple user groups to accommodate, SLOCOG remains committed to a continuous bike path running the length of the trail.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months!
